A little bit about me
I grew up in Pewaukee, Wisconsin before moving to Milwaukee to study graphic design at the Peck School of the Arts. My visual style is inspired by vintage signage, postal stamps, and modern brutalism, specifically that of Annie Atkins and Matthäus Jandl. I approach design as artifacts, as pieces of a bigger puzzle that tell the story of the time they were made in. Every detail is important to the narrative. My process consists of research, sketching, and experimentation. I believe collaboration is integral to the creative process and enjoy bouncing ideas off friends and colleagues.
Beyond graphic design, I illustrate in Procreate, play the accordion (poorly), and enjoy the great outdoors.
“What's with the rats?”
When you think of rats, you may think of pests and disease. However, these creatures are wonderfully resourceful, sociable, and resilient in the face of adversity.
The rat has become a symbol of my creative philosophy. Like the rats, I investigate and dig for answers. Like the rats, I take advantage of the tools at my disposal and find solutions to complex problems. Rats may have a negative reputation, but their ingenuity and persistence is something I aim to incorporate in my own life.
